I've just come home from this event and it really was a great weekend. All the guests were marvellous and there was some wonderful stuff on the dealers' stalls - you could even buy authentic Jupiter Mining Corporation beer and cigarettes from a props company! Even the orginal Batmobile was there, and you could sit in it and have your photo taken.

We started off on Friday night in the hotel bar, sitting on a table next to Gareth Thomas and Jacquelline Pearce. Then when we went into the restaurant, at the table next to us was Adam West!

It was good to see the casts of Blake's Seven and Red Dwarf together again, but sadly, Craig Charles had to cancel at the last minute. When Red Dwarf did their talk on Sunday, someone in the audience kept heckling them and asking embarrassing questions. It was Craig!

Andy Serkis - well, you couldn't keep him quiet. The talks he was in always ran well over time. He did some charity auctions as Gollum, perched on the table going "20 pounds, do I hear 30? 30! Yes, Precious, we loves you!"

A fan went up to Brent Spiner and said to him "I've always enjoyed your work in Star Trek".
Brent said, "Star...Trek?" What's that? I've never heard of it."
The fan said, "It's a series about a ship that goes around exploring the galaxy."
Brent replied, "I don't know anything about that. Is it on video? Could I rent it?"
The fan, a bit perplexed by now, said "Yes, you can rent it. There's a guy in it who looks a lot like you. He's an android."
Brent said "I'm sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about. Is it a comedy?"
"No, not really."
"But I can rent, it, right?"

They're having another event in November. If it's anything like this one, it'll be great fun!

By the way, you can see clips from the event here.

I think that's probably due to him being deceased, Vanner!
