Vanners post in another section reminded me of this film. Ok I know its a load of no brains action and American gung-hoism but....... I think it evokes the feelings we would have if the end was near. For that and the great effects of New York being wrecked I think this is a top movie.
Anyone care to add their opinion?
Dax
are we talking the bruce willis saves the world from an astriod film?

if so it was ok but a bit

"lets pat ourselvers on the back because we are Americans!"
vanner
I have to admit that I like to switch my brain off sometimes when watching a film.
So yes I quite enjoyed 'Aramageddon', I even enjoyed the other one, 'Deep Impact'

I mean the Yanks won the war, so it only seems fair that they save the planet !!..
Eckie
Vanner, trouble is I think the Americans might misread your post and think you said that they could have the planet! biggrin.gif

Yes it is the Bruce Willis film Dax.

I didn't like Deep Impact much to be honest, seemed like I was watching a tv mini series. I recently watched The Core in a desperate bid to beat boredom and it started off ok but grew gradually more ridiculous as it neared its end.

I am attracted to movies with an apocalyptic theme, am I that depressed wacko.gif
Dax
the thing about amargadon and deep impact was there were a lot of these "oh no theres an astroid coming" films out at the same time, like one person said theres agood idea for a film and they all did it

I like space films but it all got a bit samey and it was all the americans save the world!.....again!! tongue.gif

It had Liv in it wub.gif

Im late to this, but must admit I did enjoy it. I use the intro to set up my surround system if I have to move it (although the pipes and the haunting 'poch' effect don't appear on the soundtrack CD).

Ignore the Gung Ho'ism and enjoy the special effects. When I can afford it I want the shot of the shuttles slingshotting in re-heat around the moon tattooed on my lower left leg.. thumbup1.gif

And of course I want to see Armageddon (The Welsh Version) tongue.gif

I would have enjoyed it more if they had left Ben Afflick behind and brought back Bruce Willis. biggrin.gif

Now there's an idea ... hadn't thought of that! tongue.gif But then again, who would wear the vests in movies that Bruce does so well? wink.gif
Eckie
Isn't that why Demi left him? She was fed up of washing white vests. Or was it that he was fed up with her ever inflating chest? Now thats the stuff of sci-fi! tongue.gif
Silverlady
It's The Demi and Bruce Show ... think I might even PAY to see that one being made! tongue.gif
