Bought the dvd of this the other day, saw it in cinema on release. Excellent film, made about the same time as Matrix but the makers held it back because of the latters similarity and succes. So two years on and people just say its a matrix rip-off.
Its set in the future after WW3, every citizen is issued with free drug that inhibits emotions and it is illegal to own art, literature etc which lead to feelings and to aggression. The police do Gunkata, a martial art that teaches students how to avoid bullets by 'knowing' their trajectories and such.
Anyhow, one cop stops taking his drug and feels emotions. He joins the resistance under the pretense of infiltration. Then the fun starts. I do recommend this film.

Brilliant film and I would definitely recommend it. On the face of it people may think this is just an Sci-Fi Action film but it's much deeper than that and it blends the strong story line and action very well.

I would love to learn that gun kata!

Thumbs up from this film nut anyhow.
