I've played this game on many formats now, it's a classic. Probably the most scary, sweat inducing horror job ever. The sound of those electric doors shutting still puts a tingle up my spine now.

I enjoyed Doom, Doom II and Duke Nukem 3d, I thought they were all classics.

Unfortunately, the scrolling of the screen makes me want to puke after a while .
Sort of like 'travel sickness' ..

Quite common with Pc games etc, or so i'm told.

Spoils it a little...

Ah yes, Morbius was kind enough to put a copy of Doom on this beast a few years back. I quite agree with the travel sickness bit. Sort of 1 hrs play to every 15 mins vomiting equasion. And the looped 'pig grunt' effects.. Sigh

I must be immune to it then, I've played these games with headphones on loud for hours with no ill effects. Aliens V Predators is VERY atmospheric, another fav of mine. I like Duke Nukem too.
Morbius
Dooms graphics and motion definately made me sick after several hours of multi-player gaming on the old college network wacko.gif I find the more modern game ( since the advent of polygons instead of sprites etc ) tends not to have that much of an affect on me now... Whether that is because I've got used to the effect or because of the changes to the games ( better graphics, refresh rates etc ) , I just don't know.

Ok, here's a question. What do you think that voice in Doom is whispering all the time. I think its saying 'treachery'
The Doctor
At the risk of being flamed (!), I could never get into Doom, maybe I should try more seriously with this epic game! cyclops.gif

I loved Doom and played it for months and then suddenly - Motion Sickness! Kicked in after just a few minutes of playing the game and I'd be on the floor for 10-15 minutes wacko.gif

Same happened with Unreal sad.gif .

Ah well, someone may remake the games one day into something I can actually play again!

Ever optimistic Igor rolleyes.gif
The Doctor
How strange Igor! Have you tried travel sickness tabs (seriously!) before you play? biggrin.gif
Igor
It is odd, I've played computer games for 26 years and never came across this before. sad.gif

For a games nut like me it was disasterous! I've never taken any form of motion sickness tablet before, can anyone else who suffers from this tell me if this is an effective solution for playing Doom? I've never played Duke Nukem for more than a minute (I have all the game discs) because of this and I'd love to play.

I live in hope!
