End of Eternity ( Asimov, involves time travel paradoxes etc )

Cosmic Engineers ( Clifford Simak )

I forgot Julian May's excellent INTERVENTION

I loved Julian May's' Many Coloured Land' trilogy and the books that followed Intervention. She hasn't done much in recent years to match these I think.
