Thought this book was fantastic and I've put it in this section, because I've seen the film too (with Jodie Foster) and it was nowhere near as good.

Anyone else read it? If so, what did you think?
Eckie
I haven't read the book but saw the film, which I thought was very good!. I shall try and get hold of the book now
Dax
yeah I saw the film, sometimes it puts you off reading the book.

I like to read the books first as a rule but sometimes you dont know they are books and then can't.

the actors interpreting the book or the screen play often take away the way you have read the book, imagination is a great thing when reading.

I remember being very disapointed after reading stephen kings misery and then watching the film, it was no where near the same! unsure.gif

Hmm ,why do film producers spend a fortune getting the rights to a novel and then make it unrecognisable?

Carl Sagan was involved with the Voyager space probes. You know, the ones that carried the gold discs that were supposed to explain, to any alien who found them, what we are all about.

Strange thing, but they had 'greetings' in many languages and the first on the list was Sumerian (how long has that been a dead language?).....were they hoping that our creators (according to Sitchin) would find it? wink.gif
