For some reason their showing Blind Fury on Sci Fi tonite. Now I have a lot of time for Rutger Hauer Films and this is a nice tongue in cheek Martial Arts comedy. If you do happen to tune in, keep your eye open for the 2 killers who 'always vote for gun control' and have one of the better cursing routines in cinema history.

If their going to be showing Rutger films, lets hope they show Wedlock soon, or the much more impressive Split Second...(we need Coffee! Chocolate and Bigger F***ing Guns, move over Boys in Black).

Insane is the word I'd use... And from what little I've noticed they seem to be showing SF Erotica late @ night. What the Hell is that all about ? My other hate is they start all films at 10pm. Why. Even ITV2 can get a film on at 9 or 8pm and those of us working the next day can get a good nights kip.

ENLIGHTENMENT !!!! The programe scheduler is related to the library book buyer who is related to the SF and Fantasy Book Club Editor. They share the same surname 'F*ckwit'.

Ah well. More Angel & Buffy repeats, graphic novels, paperbacks ad nauseum coming up...

Ha Ha Ogre, you're post was funny. Apart from sharing a name F*ckwit, he also has no money to spend on anything that could be described as sci-fi. Sky buy up all the big name stuff. They did repeat the B5 spin off Crusade recently which I enjoyed.
I have to say that I'm fed up of New Twilight Zone and Invisible Man. Neither are any good. I can't see the point of starting up a channel that calls itself Sci-Fi when you cannot afford to buy anything that anyone would like to watch. If they were showing quality films such as Pitch Black or Forbidden Planet it would be something. Sky One is still the best for sci-fi or fantasy related series at the moment.
Dax
yeah I have to agee with oyu!!

and I am finding that nat-geo chanel and discovery are great at the moment, crop circles, ETs, were the egyptians aliens etc! space landings, more of a range than scifi, I havent got into the new twilight at all or invis man

bring back jon doe, and deadzone.....and even though I dont know why i am saying it that annoying one where they are stuck in the dinosaur jungle!!! laugh.gif
Eckie
Yes Dax, there have been some interesting progs on the scientific documentry channels recently. Don't forget that new series starting on FX in September called 'Carnivale'.
Dax
I saw that advertised last night, looks a bit different, might have to see if I can catch any of it smile.gif

I once asked a producer from the Sci-Fi channel why they hardly ever show anything that could be described as science fiction. He said they were trying to broaden the meaning of the term to try to broaden sci-fi's appeal and show a wider selection of material.

I said, "You mean material without any science fiction in it?"

He had no answer to that.
Dax
well thats double dutch! sounds like a polictican! laugh.gif why have a dedicated scifi chaneel then if they want to broaden things?
isnt that what FX channel is for??

very confused huh.gif

if you ever bump into him again you can tell him from us!! laugh.gif tongue.gif
The Doctor
Not seen this film - any reviews anyone?!

Hiya Doctor, thumbup1.gif

If you mean Blind Fury, it's OK. Not a bad mix of humour, swordplay and chasing people around a bit. I have a soft spot for this film but I would never say it was a real quality movie, I can't say why as I don't know! blink.gif

I'd be more inclined to get one of the numerous Japanese films that this Holywood version was based on. The character is based on Zatoichi, the blind swordsman. I spotted the latest Japanese incarnation of this story named Zatoichi (funnily enough wink.gif ) in Blockbuster last week (haven't seen it yet).
