I saw this advertised today on the scifi channel and the trailer was done in the genre of those annoying "have you had an accident and need compenstaion?" ads
think of Judge Judy in the year 2030
no longer claiming for traffic accidents, but cloning mistakes etc.
starring our own Ioan Gruffud and a host of others you will recognise, including Hector Elizondo (Pretty Woman, Miracles), Kristin Lehman (Poltergeist: The Legacy) and Viola Davis (Solaris, Traffic)
here is what they say about it on the scifi chanel webby
here and here is another site
uni telits starts this monday (4th October 2004) @8pm on the scifi channel

I saw some of this tonight but Mrs Eckie was put off by the medical nature of the storyline.
It looked ok actually.

telling you about it then forgetting myself, ho hum!
maybe I will get to catch it next weekend, also have missed dead zone again

Yes, these satellite channels like to repeat progs
Sometimes its handy as in your case but it killed off Carnivale for me. It was hard enough to follow as it was but when it got to the point where I didn't know if an episode about to be shown was a repeat or not I gave up.
At one point they were showing the third showing of one episode followed immediatly by a new one, then other nights it was different.
Life's too short

I watched this again this week, it was very emotive.
a couple who had seen a genetic doctor wanted to sue him.
they had many embryos to choose their personal choice child fom, they ewre shown a projection of what the child would look like, act like and the characteristics the child would have.
he gave them the child they wanted but failed to tell them the child would be gay
and when they found out they were not happy.
the doctors defence was, due to the choice people had with their un born children, the gay community was dying out and it was like genicide, or Hitler.
they mananged to find a couple who had a gay son, who had used the same doctor and they said they wouldnt change their son for the world, although in the end the father admitted it took some getting used to in the begining when he found out.
the result in the end was yes the doctor was found guilty for holding back information, but the good news was the compensation he had to pay them was one dollar, they had wanted millions for alleged trauma.
I thought it opened up a huge can of worms, as genetic testing has already started on unborns.....in 20, 30 years, where will we be??
will future parents be able to choose the hair, eye colour, skin tone, sexual prefence?
whether the child is shy or outgoing, an artist or academical?
