here is agreat little screen saver, ok...it doesnt look fantastic but while its gurding your PC its also looking for life "out there"

the search for extra terrisatrail intellagnce

you register, they send you a load of radio waves to check, the screen saver does the checking for you while you are away from the computor, once a unit os complete, you send it back to seti, they send you anther one and so forth, if your pc picks up anything odd you get to know about it!
how cool is that, you could actually help to find other life forms alien1.gif

seti@home.

I have been a member for a while and have now completed 668 units smile.gif there was a piece on the news last week to say that seti have actually found, via someones pc, radio waves which are not of human orgin! ohmy.gif

so do take a look

one word of warning though, if you choose to have a bash at it, reduce your seti window as if you leave it on as a screen saver it can actually cause a permanant shadow on your monitor, it does still do its stuff if its reduce down though smile.gif alien1.gif alien1.gif

Yes I read about them finding an 'artificial' signal of somekind. The frustrating thing about these incidents is that its often the fact that the story dies away after a while without any explanation.
Wasn't there a signal heard in the 70s from Epsilon Bootes or somewhere. It seemed to be a created purposfull thing but it just stopped, never to be heard again. Strange! alien1.gif
