Saturday night in my house is Film night.

I have the sound system with full size Kenwoods as front speakers (don't need a sub woofer), metal Aristons as rear speakers etc. However, with the new extention a distinct possibility I want a bigger TV. Don't really like the refresh rates on LCDs (stupid prices and they make me nauseous huh.gif ) Rear projectors seem cumbersome (and again very expensive for what they are). So I've been giving some thought to instaling a projector unit.

Various major electronic stockists have started to do these at affordable prices (ish) and ones I've seen have S Video inputs etc. However, all the ones I've seen operating have been in store conditions with loads of fluorescents interfering with the view.

Has anyone here installed one of these babies yet ? Did you have a problem converting Scart to S Vid ? Can you tell me more about it ? Or has anyone tried to set this type of system up and ditched it because of unforseen problems.

Please let me know.

Ogre

PS The system is to fit in a new extention with 1 wall set up as a screen.

ohh, I dont know Ogre, it all sounds terribly technical to me!

I have a bog standard surround system with a big bass box thingy, not that we have it on too loud.
my chap fitted it, it took him a while to do it, it has I think 5 speakers ? or is it 7? I cant remember and I am not counting them!! laugh.gif I cant even remember where there all are, I know there are two little ones behind the sofa which are for the background noise, its very cool cool.gif to listen to, but I dont really have it on that often, I do confess I cranked it up when I was watching LoTR, ROTK, I had it on about level 22 volume! laugh.gif
