I really enjoy watching Red Dwarf......I must admit though to being a bit dissapointed with the final series!

I have to say they were all good. I really liked the ship computers, I can't remember their names though.

Even the blokes name was Holly? No wonder I blocked that out.

Kryten was good but I think Rimmer was my man, he reminded me of somebody I knew, same personality and ways...... poor sod. I was disappointed with the last series too, in fact I think it went downhill when the writing team split.

I used to really like Craig Charles but now I have gone right off him since bumping into him in Manchester nite clubs years ago .

I think Holly's just brilliant - really annoying, but brilliant! Love her voice!

the bloke was just so gormless it was great!

the first episode where he kept saying their dead dave!, dave their all dead was hilarious!

Craig Charles? Don't want to get into any trouble, but he didn't arf think he was Gods gift ...say no more Poaching all the girls,, nicking pints etc.

This was just before he got into that bother with the police (''rape'' etc) .

Have to agree with Dax, Cat is the one for me I loved the bit where he was going around the ship with an aerosol spray: Squirt "That's mine!", squirt "That's mine!" etc, such a typical cat

a forgotton character was toastie,
never did see him in any roles after RD, the rumour was he had a drinking problem, and no-one would hire him again.

A sad situation to be sure.

I understand his toastcentric personality irritated some of the other 'non-bread based' appliances, leading to his early withdrawal from the series.

Sorry to disagree but Ace Rimmer is and remains the best character

Don't know if anyone remembers this, but Red Dwarf but was based on a series of sketches called Dave Hollins - Space Cadet that Rob Grant and Doug Naylor wrote for their Radio 4 series Son of Cliché. In the sketches, Chris Barrie played the ship's computer, but he was called HAB, not Holly. I've still got some of them on tape somewhere.

I remember being shown the script for the Red Dwarf pilot episode in the pub and Rob and Doug moaning that no-one was interested in making it! The people who turned it down must have been kicking themselves later on.

Now we've got the movie to look forward to...!
