Sci-Fi Spectrum > Books & Literature > Sci Fi Reads

Play Dot Com have just e-mailed me (and probably you) to say their now doing books. Don't know about you but my plastic's already starting to panic. I wonder if this signifys the end of the SF& F Bookclub and their endless reams of Buffy & Angel paperbacks...... Which of course no fen can do without....

ooer! are they going the same way as amazon do you think?
Ogre
Well the thing I like about Play is that they absorb the postage in the item cost. A few times I've thought Amazon had given me a good price only to have to add postage at the end.

Also Play usually deliver within a couple of days. I find you order with Amazon, then discover you have to wait a couple of weeks for your goods.

Lets see, perhaps this'll get Amazon to re-think some of their service policies. But I can't see it somehow.

got to be honest, we never have a problem with amazon delivery, I normally ask for the week delivery as its cheaper and it still normally takes 3 days biggrin.gif
I have already asked for an email to let me know when I can pre order the next harry potter book! laugh.gif
got the last one from them, hard back first edition and it arrived the same day as it was released!! yeah!!

this has reminded me to do something! biggrin.gif I have just pre ordered Hp prisoner of Azkaban DVD!! it should be here in 2 weeks when it comes out!
(also they have ST Nemisis at half price this week on DVD!)(sorry I am pinching your thread!)
Ogre
Not at all. Feel free to pinch away. Ooooer. Eg. did you see HMV have Mallrats for £6.50 this week on DVD ?

I just ordered some books and Angel 3 dvd which cost just a tad under £35 from Amazon. I would never join the sci-fi club again, they cannot compete. A friend of mine almost ordered Angel set at £50 from them. £15 difference is hell of a lot.
