I have a problem getting still frames off dvds. I have tried turning off hardware acceleration in XP and using PrntScr but then Windows Media player and Windvd won't work at all.
I have used Crystal which does work, I can play and screengrab from VOB files but it will only play 1 out of 50 dvds at all. It keeps saying 'cannot find video stream' yet all my dvds play fine using the two players I mentioned above.
Any ideas?
Dax

Cheers Vanner, I'll investigate further.
Dax, using a dvd player in a pc should enable you to grab a still from the film as it plays just like you can cut and paste anything but.......... the dvd player bypasses the normal screen display thereby windows has no access to it. You can turn this hardware help off and that can work but in my case it just stops the dvd player software working. I know 'Power dvd' program can do it but that costs £30. I'm not that desperate for still frames!
