Sci-Fi Spectrum > Television > TV Series

well they seem to be dropping like flys! ohmy.gif

Billie has quit as well after proving her acting skills, there is a rumour that her on screen boyfriend, Mickey will take over as the Docs sidekick

personally I think he is a bit wet behind the ears to be a good companion!
what do you think?
Igor
Blimey! That was quick. blink.gif

I haven't watched it yet - I used to love Doc Who when I was a kid but just can't bring myself to watch it this time round. Have I mentioned (again) that I've met Jon Pertwee? laugh.gif
Dax

This is my fault sorry.

I made the mistake of being impressed by a UK SF series (not done since Saphirre(s) & Steel). I actually liked the writing, the actors had a certain 'chemistry' and the one episode scripts were nice and punchy. Ah well, that will teach me.

As for Mickey (?) becoming the new assistant.... Well, we'll see what happens.

(Off topic I saw an episode of the CGI Captain Scarlet the other week, different)

Its a shame as she is good in the role of Rose. The new series has been mostly good to excellent with a couple of duds in the middle. Mickey's character is a bit redundent, I would not like to see him in it any further.
Jon Pertwee is my favourite past Doctor. The new Captain Scarlet is very well done.

I have to confess (I can already hear the calls of 'HEATHEN!' over the internet) that I haven't watched Doctor Who since Sylvester McCoy became the Doc. Lost COMPLETE interest at that stage! huh.gif

Got Jon Pertwee to sign a Doc Who card at the NEC during a retail business exhibition many, many moons ago. He seemed like such an incredibly nice gentleman and was one of my favourite Doctors. I was gutted when he passed away. sad.gif

My other favourite Doctors were definitly Tom Baker and as a huge fan of Peter Cushing, I also think he was a brilliant Doctor as well. I did think that Richard E. Grant was a good choice in the animated Doc series that was on BBC Online not long ago (I think that was 2003 or 2004, just watched the first few episodes of it) and wondered why he didn't go on to be the Doc in the actual new series.

I've got a pile of wood here and some matches.......
Just kidding, I stopped watching DW about half way through Tom Bakers years. If you watch them now on UK Gold you can see why.
The new series is pretty good, long may it continue
