Ok, I have Orion (Bova) in my work bag, The Dragon in Lyoneese (Dickson)by my chair. But the bedside has Lucifers Hammer next to it.

I've not read this novel for a couple of years, but it's one of those books that sucks you right in. If you've not sat down with it, it deals with the lead up to a comet/asteroid strike on the planet and the struggle to build any form of civilised society afterwards.

I know it's been done many times, but when they write together, Niven & Pournell have a way of getting a reader really involved in their characters lives.

Give it a try.
