A new ghost hunting tool we have started to use id Dowsing Rods - all i can say is Oh My God!!!!! They are amazing and they dont get caught out when you throw in the odd trick question either - i was speechless and now have a working pair myself and they are amazing. Can even find your keys if you lose them!

They are extremely useful in ghost tracking - i spent last night talking to an 84 year old lady called patricia edwards who died in 1977, she was happily married to charles. Doesn't like to be called pat. was born 25 Nov 1893 and died on 3 May 1977 of natural causes. She tried to manifeste for us on a few occasions and paul could feel her move through him as the rods followed her moving around the room when asked to. Paul asked if she just walked through him and she said yes (i was witnessing all of this) it also turned colder. She is happy to talk to us and enjoyed having someone to talk to.

I saw this with my own eyes and also used rods - it does work!

I have also been told by the rods that there are 2 spirits in my flat but they are not human ones - they are feline but are able to communicate with me through the rods - i even have their given names!! millie and people from NFL forum wait for it.......... sugar - this made me cry but it explains the way smurf has been behaving - so wierd!! But i need to use the rods in my flat more to verify this.

Absolutely not! Some people can accept things like that, some cannot but I like to keep an open mind. Just because EVERYBODY can't experience these things does not mean they are not real.

Some people are more sensitive. Once again I think it's to do with frequencies. It's possible for certain people to tune into them, almost like a radio. Just because the radio is switched off or tuned to a different frequency does not mean other stations are not still broadcasting.

I think you can also use a crystal on a length of string, it swings if close to something.

never heard of dowsing used to detect spirits though, sounds very intereseting!

Our rods are homemade!!! will do pics of us using them.

Mine are made of a wire coat hanger and a biro pen casing so the rods dont touch my hands at all and can move freely inside the pen.

Took me a few days of lots of practice to get mine working properly and train my brain to use them. I can get them to turn 180 degrees and point to me then go back to the search position again now which means i have mastered it!!! yey!!!

Im not sure how i feel about Sugar being there - obviously its very upsetting as im still really grieving for her and was not expecting to have her in my life again. Im really not sure how i feel about it. Im glad she's happy as she told me she is a happy spirit and is free to roam and not stuck in the flat - although i dont yet know why she is back. Its quite emotional but thats what you get for identifying the spirit!!! I knew it was possible it could be her - i had to know - even though it was upsetting. very mixed emotions about it all.

Yes they used to be used to find water - you ask them to direct you to water and they do - i demonstrated this yesterday to my sister - i turned the tap on and stood facing away from it then asked and they swung round to point to the tap!!! i then said search and they went back to search position - they are just amazing i cant even explain how cool they are!

Thank you for reminding me!!!..........yes you can use crystals as well, but it has to be a proper one. And the effect is much the same a dowsing only a bit stronger as the crystal it's self is made from something natural!!

How cool is this!! Patricia (the ghost) told us where her she is buried and she does has a marked headstone so we are going to the grave yards today and gonna get the rods to lead us to her grave !!! if we find that grave - oh can u imagine how cool that would be!!!
we are also checking the recrds office to find out who was registered at tthe property at the time she says they lived there.

I know!!! I cant wait to go - was supposed to go this afternoon but i've been delivering puppies at my mums instead!!!! so will will go this evening - im sooooo excited!!!

When we arrived at the graveyard the rods were absolutely aditment as to where in the cemetry she was buried - in this area were lots of flat headstones and most were covered in moss - grass - there were many broken headstones as well. the rods were always saying the same thing as to where she is buried but we couldn't find her - if she has a flat headstone thats why, paul is going to check her story out at the records office tomorrow. Ssouthend was also present last night and can confirm the state of the graves there.

I went with Laura and Paul to the church yard last night to see if we could locate Praticia's grave. Paul used the rods and they did point out a specific area in the graveyard itself and no matter what angle was used they would point to the same area. Unfortunately some of the graves are that worn it is impossible to see what is wrote on them. In addition Paul asked if there were any spirits there and the rods moved. I am very open minded about this sought of thing but concidering we surrounded Paul so that the wind could not move them the results were amazing. The rods were pointing straight foward and the exact moment Paul asked a question the rods moved. I saw this happen several times. After we had finished we went to Canewdon where to be honest we have been warned not to go anymore. The rods here indicated that there was a spirit behind us in the car park. Normally we go there and don't have any problems but last night it felt very bad and none of us would enter the church yard. On the way back both Liz and myself felt very ill and drained all of a sudden which unfortunately bought the night to an early end. I have no doubt in my mind that dowsing works having seen them in action. I myself am going to now try the pendulum method to see what results I can get from there.

Aslo at Canewdon last night was the noise behind us - where the rods had pointed out a spirit - the heavy footsteps and rustling, we flashed the torches over immediatly there was nothing there - we all heard it. Very wierd night there last night - lights near the graves again - noises - the feeling of the place last night was so wierd - it just felt really wrong to enter the graveyard and usually we are fine going in there, very spooky!!!

Sounds like you had a good night!!!!!.......but if you were warned not to go to Canowdon then I think it's best that you don't go...........there was obviously a reason why Patricia told you not to go there and you really don't want to find out what that is now do you!!!!!............your my friends and I really don't want to see you hurt.......take heed of warnings!!!!!!!!

p.s. If you are planning on doing the crystal dowsing ssouthend....remember to get a real crystal.......it can be very deceiving in the shops in southend!!!!......lol

Dont worry hun!!!! We wouldn't do anything stupid - we never even entered the graveyard as it felt really wrong.

We know there are spirits there so dont really need to go there anymore - we are currently searching for new places to visit.

Ok we haven't found anything at the records office yet but on talkin to Patricia more and asking more specific questions.

She lived in Paul's road but not in the actaul flat - she used to visit and stay there - she mentioned a few days back she was happy but her marriage wasn't a very happy one. We are now looking into if the property was rented out or if maybe she was the occupiers mistress? would explain a lot.

I mean it could be a spirit playing silly buggers and laughing its a*se off at us but i think its worth checking out, there is definatly definatly a spirit there we are not sure if its been mucking about or is telling the truth as it is adimant that its name is Patricia Edwards which is why we think it could have either been a rented property or that she was the occuipiers mistress which is why she likes it there and could be waiting for him? just a theory.

Re the graveyard the spirit has now admitted 'yes' she was playing silly buggers.

I think this is something we need to investigate more and more and eventually we will get there im sure!

At the end of the day we have seen the rods track her moving around etc etc as well as a cam in wales showed the rods following a spirit move and on the cam an orb is moving by the rods in time with them and everything - amazing!

Basically yeah - she still insists she is who she says she is but now says she didn't actually live there but used to visit often - we wonder whether she was the occ's mistress as she didn't have a good marriage?

She's friendly enough and doesn't worry us her mucking about if it keeps her amused - just annoying as we dont know where she is buried yet !!!

Find out when she lived there....or in that area and then go to the library and go to the Directorys of that year and look up Edwards......that what I did when I was trying to find out who lived in my aunts place.......I have a huge list now and some of the stuff I found was really interesting.

But if you look up her name then it should tell you where she lived, and then you can look in the obituarys and see when she died and where and then you should be able to find where she was buried.

We will do - thing is if they rented or she was a mistress those details dont come up on the address search - next job is births and deaths but she wasn't born in essex she says so gotta find out where she was born ideally

This is all really interesting can't wait to find out what happens next.

I have to say I think its great that ghosts can have a sense of humour too, as long as they stay harmless that is.

No they're not - and very useful - videoed them working yesterday - Myself, Southend and Paul went to Magenta's to investigate yesterday.

Can't wait till this weekends tho....we're going to be investigating a Georgian House that was built in 1720......there have been noises heard in the Stable outside i.e. keys being knocked and the smell of aftershave. And footsteps have been heard on the landing and outside room 3!!!......it's my aunts guest house and she will be away!!!.......so we should be in for a good night!!!

Ok the investigation at Laurens Aunts Guest House was most interesting. We spoke to a 14 year old stable boy in what used to be the stables.
We also heard horses hooves trotting, footsteps and breathing/whispering on the babymonitor!!! This happened a few times.

The ghost did try to make himself known - he moved the branches of a tree plant, and affected the candles flame.

On the sunday when we did the investigation i felt like someone was behind me a few times, all in all a very spooky night !!!!

Im not sure, we never found that out. Magenta has my rods will see if she can find out.

Sorry I haven't been on here much guys....I forgot my password!!!.....lol

It is possible that the 14 year old stable boy died of somekind of illness, it wasn't that uncommon back in those days. But we did find out his name was John Keyns (or Keys) and when I looked in the census records there was a William Keyn's (or Keys....it was in the 1700's so the census was hand written and not very easily deciphered!) there was a record of having 4 other men in the house and 2 women (workers and maids) but no children would have been recorded. So it is possible that the two are related. When we asked using the rods he said that William Kenys was his father!

But we have just had a recent investigation there too and we have it on video. Laura walked into the garden room before me and when I walked through the open door, the closed door that was locked to the right of me juddered and banged as tho someone had just ran into it!! Needless to say we recorded me shouting a few swear words as soon as it happend!!!!!!!........lol but there was no reason for it, I hadn't touched it and for it to shake like that it would have had to have been really barged because Laura saw the door still shaking once it had happened!!!!!!

Oh dear, I can see this ending in Salt and Smudge Sticks (and you know how expensive they are ).

I use a crystal for picking up energy blockages in a persons chakra's (and on one memorable occasion my belt )

But I must admit I haven't tried the rods yet. Although I'm now tempted.

I always used to think these were literally a 'stick' until I saw how much they were and the size of them . Other good uses aside, they last quite a few times if you dab the 'bundle' out after use and smell quite good.

I find the rods much easier to use as they are easier to read and they just work better for me.
You can make your own rods to and they will work.
