Can anyone tell me what the he** NASA are doing ? Bowing to pressure to launch aged vehicles in a dangerous state. Spending billions and still not getting it right.

Do they have a secret remit to keep Humans confined to one planet (no bad thing really) or are they working for the Chinese ?

I agree totally. They spent something like 1.2 billion on repairs after the last disaster and a bigger chunk falls off on launch this time. The Shuttle has been a total waste of time and money in my opinion, it's achieved nothing.
NASA should have pushed for more ambitious un-manned missions which have been a great success or failing that perhaps should have continued the moon missions and set up a base there.
I can't see there being any more shuttle missions after this.

So, now their landing @ Edwards........ Makes you wonder what we're not meant to see / hear
