Full Version: Awful follow up games

Rant warning.

The Silent Hill series has been outstanding - the scariest games on the PS2 and then they come out with Silent Hill 4. sad.gif

What a load of codswallop! Great graphics in general (although the main character is not very realistic), great sound effects, good voice acting, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah BUT no atmosiphere, bad story line, very bad game planning (rated as 'innovative') that repeats itself because they ran out of ideas - aaaarggghhhh! What are they like?! Almost a bad a follow up as Devil May Cry 2 (I nearly went to sleep just trying to play that game after Devil May Cry, one of the best action arcade games of it's type IMHO).

Rant, rant, mumble, mumble. At least Onimusha hasn't failed me yet with it's excellent games 1, 2 and 3! thumbup1.gif Awesome! tongue.gif

I dunno, I stopped with Silent Hill, I think I disliked the control rumble tied with being expected to stamp on things to kill them. Some lines I won't cross in my own games. I'll not expect to cross them toplay other people (soid in a strange highland accent)

Princess Leia feels the same - hated that aspect of the game. It's also a feature in most (if not all) of the Resident Evil games.

Someone somewhere thought to themselves "I know, let's make a game where you end up back where you started over and over and over again"... maybe the same chap will one day think to himself "I know let's make a game where you watch paint dry". Not terribly inspired me thinks. wacko.gif
