It's 13 episodes are filming in Cardiff and features the character of Captain Jack from Dr Who's last series. Its a kind of X-files/UNIT inspired scipt that is aimed at adults. Sounds intruiging

Torchwood will debut on BBC Three late next year. Created by Russell T Davies it stars John Barrowman as Captain Jack.
"Torchwood will be a dark, clever, wild, sexy, British crime/sci-fi paranoid thriller cop show with a sense of humour - the X Files meets This Life," says Russell T Davies.
"It's a renegade bunch of investigators charged by the British government to find alien technology that has fallen to Earth," BBC Three controller Stuart Murphy told The Independent.
The show will be set in Cardiff, and will be 13 45-minute episodes, transmitting between series of Doctor Who. Confirmed writers include Sapphire and Steel creator PJ Hammond
from the BBC

The new programme will be called Torchwood (an anagram of Doctor Who) and will follow a crack team investigating alien activities and crime in modern-day Britain.

did you see it??

I thought it was good humour, style and sci-fi. Very derivative though. Thinking X-Files, Buffy, Angel but thats not a bad thing. Cardiff looked great too. Will have to look for that lift next time I'm shopping there.

Ok, episode 3 was pretty good. No swearing or sex this time

so it played like an episode of Dr Who. A machine that can see into the past and future. Nicely done. I like this series.

It was quite good. I liked the 'cross time' elements of the story. The girl who used to be in Eastenders and that comedy program with Richard (power to the people)Lyndsey was quite hot

Nice to have yet a bit more info about Jack revealed. "Like trying to read the mind of a zombie" and "What are you ?" " I don't know".
My daughter was working on the theory that he was affected when Rose took on the Timestream (or something like that) but it's obvious that his 'peculiarities' had their origins before that.
I'd like to see some action from UNIT tho, possibly in a supporting role. Maybe even a visit off the Doc himself.

Jack is supposed to be appearing in an epsiode ( or more ) of the next series of Dr Who
quoted from Wikipedia :
QUOTE
Barrowman, however, has confirmed that he has signed on to return as Jack for Series 3.[3] The official Doctor Who website at bbc.co.uk announced on August 10, 2006 that this appearance would come in the series finale, [4] and Davies told Doctor Who Magazine that Jack will appear in "multiple episodes" in the second half of the series.[5] Barrowman revealed that he would appear in three of the final four episodes of the third season in a yet-to-be-disclosed storyline, and that he would be the only actor from "Torchwood" to cross over into "Doctor Who.
great stuff!

bit like when Buffy/Angel/Spike/Willow crossed over in to Buffy and Angel TV series

Ohhhh young man!!!!
OMG! how blooming good was the Torchwood finale?!!!
I cried I laughed I cried again
and at the end I cheered, when Gwen says to Jack what vision would have made you change your mind, and then Jack says a very good doctor and then the TARDIS noise started and all the paper got blown around the room, and then Jack was gone!

I was jumping around like a little jumping thing!

an idea of things to come maybe?? lets hope so
