I have some Star Trek (TNG) audio cassettes that were given to me as a Christmas present last year (or was it the year before?!) - I keep meaning to listen to them either in the car or at home.
Are people generally fans of the audio stuff? Or do you prefer to read if you're going to use 'alternative media'?
I must listen to them soon, so hope they're not dissapointing or go too far away from the TV series.

Mmmmmmmm.... I have a Twin Peaks audio book, its quite good actually. I think you'd enjoy listening with headphones, better atmosphere like that..... as long as someone doesn't tap you on the shoulder out of the blue

Had Lord of the Rings on audio (about 12 tapes I think) and listened to them as I drove backwards and forwards between Wales and Yorkshire. Great way to avoid driving boredom (and road rage!!) .

The only audio book I ever read was something by Stephen King. I used to play it at night when I went to bed and usually fell asleep before the end of the tape I was like being a kid again being read a bedtime story Can't remember what it was called but as per most Stephen King stories it had a good beginning, quite good middle and a lousy end

Just imagining you swapping those tapes in and out whilst driving through the wilderness!

Driving through scary forests in the pitch black, no other cars on the road, no houses, listening to Shelob.
<--- that smilie says "mellow" but it doesn't look mellow.
Neither did I.

I also have the BBC LotR and Hobbit cassettes, but have recently transfered them to CD. I also have a Red Dwarf talking book, read by Chris Barrie (he is very funny as he impersonates all the voices from the TV series). Also got the Harry Potter books on CD.....
