Well, I did it. Got myself a 2nd hand PS2 last week. Patched it into the Amp via a digital hookup and make sure that I have the Dolby Surround selected in Options.

However I've discovered that shop assistant has a very strange idea of what an RPG is..........

Anyone recommend some ?

Depends on what you would call an ideal RPG Ogre. There was one D 'n G game I saw (ages ago) and it was dreadful - I think it was made by 3DO (also responsible for some of THE worst PS2 games ever made, such as 'Army Men' ).

I used to love the old D 'n G games that were turn based (basically computer versions of the board games) and the strategy type games basedf on the same genre, then moved onto first person perspective type RPG games.

Then there are the ones that are loosely based on classic RPG but are more action/adventure type of things. Depends on what you want.

i advise you to get either Dragon Quest 8 , or if you dont like the cel shaded graphics go for Final Fantasy X , it is a classic.

Kingdom Hearts II is pretty nice too..
