I see on the news today that some more probes have been launched to check out the sun

Is it me or does that sound daft?

so we get some really mega expensive probes which are very very delicate we blast them into space and direct them at the hottest thing in the universe!
does anyone else see a flaw in this plan? ...... like they might melt
