Full Version: Being Human
Sci-Fi Spectrum > Television > TV Series
Dax
this was on BBC3 last week, some one at work asked if I had seen it and I was lucky enough to catch a repeat

so basically set in modern day UK, a vampire and a werewolf decide to move in together and when they find the perfect house it turns out its haunted by a ghost! laugh.gif

it was quite entertaining but I am trying to find out if it was just a one off or there will be more of them, hope so smile.gif
Eckie
I saw the trailer for this and a bit of the program itself but I found it hard work. blink.gif

I enjoyed what I saw. In fact I've downloaded it in HD (I've already noticed the Rug is treated as a second class citizen though. Oh for a media example where the Rug has self control and proceeds to wipe the floor with the next patronising vamp). Here's hoping the rest of it maintains the decent quality. ITV's offering of Demons is starting to make me itch...

this is something i need to see. didnt see the original but it looks like my cup of tea.
Dax

Been meaning to post this since Sunday.

SPOILERS

Now series 1 is finished I admit to having a few reservations about the series. The constant harrasment of George by the Vamps. Mitchel being uninterested in his Fledgling. And the ultimate Vamp no no of turning a kid. unsure.gif

But the series finale was WONDERFUL... I've played the last 15 mins back everyday this week to watch whilst having Tea. (Mrs Ogre on Nights) and I'm not tired of it yet.

Not to sure about the Van Helsings (or whatever) shown at the end. And I'm a bit sorry for whatsherface.

Roll on series 2.

i really enjoyed it biggrin.gif . i still haven't seen the original and missed the first episode so i have no idea why the mitchel can go out in sunlight or eat food (surely his organs don't work) but i still thought it was brill thumbup1.gif
Dax
yes I wondered that but its something to do with made up stereo types of Vamps smile.gif
yes staking kills them, some religious crosses/symbols harm some of them (depends on if you care about the person)

and they get bone ache, hence them wearing gloves or fingerless gloves and rubbing of hands wink.gif

I was gutted to find out it was only 6 episodes but I totally enjoyed those 6, and I am with you Ogre! loved the last bit, very emotional and good

the only one big disapointment for me was the dodgy dog costume for George wink.gif
Dax
you you are bog babe laugh.gif you tube links for the origanl pilot episde wink.gif

HERE!!
Bog Babe
thanks Dax thumbup1.gif

i watched it today and the the episodes that i missed.

i understand the sunlight thing now but i still don't get how the vampires can eat and drink and smoke. when Mitchel was staked the hospital monitors showed no readings which would suggest that his organs werent working, it doesnt make sense that a dead being could digest food.

also, in the original version George stated early on that Lauren was an only child but in episode 3 she says that she wants to kill her parents and brothers. minor pointsi know, but i do like consistency laugh.gif

Nowt wrong with hoping a story teller will respect your intelligence. As I get older I find myself getting increasingly impatient with Books/Films/Series that can't be bothered to adhere to some form of internal consistency and expect me to turn a blind as well. Caught Heroes for the first time in an age the other week (I switched off last series when all the 'good' characters became 'bad'.) Peter and the gang were prisoners in what was obviously a Hercules prop aircraft (or similar). Part way through, Peter freezes the wall and numerous people are sucked out through explosive decompression. blink.gif Sorry, they just don't fly that high. TV off, book out.

This seems to be happening more often of late. As they grow more lazy, I grow more intolerant.
