my house has always had activity, since I moved here anyway! biggrin.gif

we think there are (or were...got rid of one) 3 spirit people here

I have seen 2 of them, one very clearly

the clock that doesnt work will start working for a few moments, the pendulum will swing....it hasnt worked for 2 years but we keep it up any way (wedding present) but the time never changes

other things move, rock back and fro in front of your eyes

one of them likes playing with the radio, he hates boy bands and will turn them down, only when I am in the shower though!! and If I ask him to turn it up because I like a song he will oblige me!

likes to just turn it up and down but will stop when I ask him to

he has helped me find things when asked(dont ask very often though, dont want to annoy him!)

we have heard movements upstairs, footsteps and things being moved, we can shout up the stairs and say they are too noisy and it will stop

they are guarrented to pop up when we decorate....they are so nosey its untrue!!

ooo and they love watching sightings!! laugh.gif

I like living with other people, its quite comforting to be honest, and you get very used to it.

even my husband who has rhino skin to that sort of thing has felt them around and about the house.

so if you believe me thats great.....other wise you will think I am as mad as a box of frogs! rolleyes.gif

Hi Daz,

Great post. At the end of the day there will always be people who don't believe what someone has got to say, especially regarding spirits, the only thing that matters is what you know is the truth. I have mentioned a couple of experiences that I have had, Did I mention the one in asda that has got to be the only time that I can't justify it to anything. Very odd!

When I was a little girl, I can remember seeing a boy standing next to my bed looking down at me. It was horrible, I hid under the covers and wouldn't come out for ages but when I did he was gone. A similar thing happened to me about a year ago, when I had just gotten into bed, I shut my eyes but instantly felt someone was looking at me. There I saw this frail little old woman standing, looking like she was trying to pass me a lacey hankie. Being the coward I am I very rudely screamed F**k off and ran and turned the light on. She hasn't been back since. Now I agree both times could be that I was infact dreaming partly and these two were nothing more than figments of my imagination but I can tell you they felt very real and still do.

I have also had things moved and even go missing and they turn up in places that I know I've looked and there is no-one in the house etc and one time my son switched off the telly and walked away. I was watching a favourite prog at the time and was telling him off and demanding he switch it back on, when it turned on all by its self. I did remember to say thank you. I don't mind good/helpfull spirits visiting us but not when I'm in the bathroom or late at night in bed.

I often feel a cat about me, this never bothers me and I get the strong feeling that it was my old cat Frem.

I have another true story about an experience my brother had, I shall post that when I have more time.

Once again excellant Daz, do you have anymore?

Take care

My Aunt and Uncle used to get a smell of 'old lady' perfume on the stairs in their new house with no reason. They reckoned a previous owner was checking them out.

My Uncle ( a lay minister) did a 'cleansing' and the smell stopped.

Very good posts !!!

I have been having more and more activity in my flat with Sugar.

I had a ball of light and it was glittering/twinkling/shimmering then on the other side of the room were sparks, them simba shot off the windowsill behind me with his ears back eyes wide open and straight out the cat flap.
I layed on my side and heard one of the cats cleaning themsleves and rolled over to stroke it - nothing was there.

Paul has also felt a cat laying on him, sitting behind him - heard it flicjk its ears etc - nothing there.

So cool !!!

I've never seen a ghost, to my knowledge. Who knows, they could be walking among us and look like ordinary people?

But I did have a strange experience . My mum hadn't been feeling well and I was at her house to stay with her while my sister, who lived there, went shopping. We'd called the doctor and he seemed to think mum was anaemic and said he'd send the nurse the next day to draw blood for test. Although mum was 81 we didn't think she was in any immediate danger of dying.

Later I was downstairs and I thought I'd go up and check on mum. My sister's dog, Cassie ran up the stairs ahead of me and stopped dead in her tracks as she got inside mum's room. She suddenly started barking frantically at something she was apparently seeing on the wall above mum's head. I couldn't see anything and told her to be quiet.

Later that evening, after I'd decided to stay overnight, my sister and I called in at mum's room to say goodnight and see if there was anything she wanted. She turned to my sister and asked who 'these people' were. We obviously couldn't see anybody and thought she must have been dreaming. She said two people had come in through the window. We reassured her that nobody was there and went into my sister's room.

We decided to stay awake all night and check on mum, just in case. About 3.45am we heard mum shout out. I raced into her room and she was just lying there. I checked for a pulse but sadly she'd passed away. sad.gif My nephew tried to revive her with mouth-to-mouth while we waited for the paramedics, but to no avail. The paramedics and doctor told us that it was a ruptured aortic aneurism (sp) that had killed her.

I believe that Cassie had seen something and so had mum. To this day I believe somebody was there to help her 'cross over'. I'm just a bit sad that I didn't actually see anybody sad.gif

Scully sorry to hear about your mum but must be comforting to know that there was someone(s) looking out for her.

My brother had an experience at West Beckham workhouse. This area is well known for its hauntings, there have been regular sightings at the graveyard a few hundred yards from the workhouse of ghostly funeral prossesions. West Beckham used to be situated where the graveyard and workhouse was but during the time of the black death, they upped and moved about a mile away. Apparently the area (fields) big holes were dug and the bodies were just thrown in as was the case everywhere else at this time. There are also a lot of second world war underground bunkers there, which we as children had a great time exploring. So really its not to surprising that this is a very haunted area. The workhouse is the most haunted though, its on a beautiful site, many have said nothing has been done to this site due to its atmosphere, whether this is true I don't know. I can tell you I never liked the place and didn't know anyone who did.

This next bit is my brother's account of events.

He was walking home through a field one day and he heard some children and a dog quite close by, now remember the villiage is about a mile away. He was looking around but couldn't see anything. He said he then felt eyes boring in the back of him and he said he had a strong feeling to look at the workhouse. There in the top window was a figure of a woman, he said she appeared psychedelic blue. The thing is there is no upper floor in that part of the building. My brother was 12 years of age when this happened, I was 10. For a very long time I had to share a room with my brother as he was too scared to sleep alone, he awoke every night screaming that she was at the window and she was after him. I used to hate having to go to the window and show him she wasn't. Seeing how scared my brother was and how it effected him I have no doubts whatsoever that he was telling the truth.

When he was 14 he told me how some friends of his, had a night of play on a and I know I'm gonna spell this wrong but weegee board, very dangerous, he said he saw this ball/bubble of light about the size of a small football bouncing off each of his friends and they all started to act quite strange, getting scared my brother said he shut his eyes and repeatedly said the Lords pray and he thinks because of this it left him alone.

I don't know if I was more shocked that they had done something so stupid or that my brother could remember the words to the Lords pray.

Hope you enjoyed

Ooh, I and my friends used to use the ouija board. But whether it was too active an imagination or something else I can't say for sure but one night the glass lifted into the air and we all got really scared. It was nothing big but it put me off it for good.

Btw, ouija means 'yes-yes' Oui is yes in french and ja is yes in German. I don't know why it was given that name, it would be more logical to call it 'yes-no'. smile.gif

Thank you so much for clearing up the spelling for ouija borad, I knew I had spelt it wrong and for the life of me drew a blank. Its been bugging me all day, you can't imagine the relief! rolleyes.gif

I think they are very dangerous, people leave themselves to open for them. Is anyone there? People really need to be more specific, like is there any nice spirits etc there who want to make contact and not stay blah blah! wink.gif

I was told that using a oujee board is like standing in a football crowd shouting "IS ANYONE THERE!!

you never know who might answer!!

lauraakafoxy
I must say i would never use a ouija board - they are far to dangerous - they open doors - i must say i have heard some awful stories from people i know who have encountered these and i would never touch one.
Jethro
Couldn't agree more on the ouija board score ph34r.gif

Apparently our house is haunted. Can get freaky late at night, cold spots etc and a real feeling some one is looking over your shoulder on occasion, you know the feeling ... you look around expecting some one to be there. Never seen anything though :dunno:
lauraakafoxy
Oh yes, i know that feeling !!!

How old is your house? if you dont mind me asking?
Jethro
Our place dates from around the 1920s or so.... semi detached l think you call them in pomgolia smile.gif

As stated never seen anything...
