With great sadness I have to report that David Eddings passed earlier this month. You may not have seen much of his work on the SF side, but the Belgariad was an essential bed time story when my daughter was a toddler. I'm not sure if he leaves family (his wife an co -author passed in 2006).

I've been hooked on SF & Fantasy for the past 37 year and Eddings is the only author who's works has inspired me to have some ink based on his works.
