I seem to have dropped into the habit of getting weird Ron Perlman Films of late. The other week I caught Mutant Chronicles, based on a Steam Punk RPG. The film itself wasn't too bad, although the ending let it down.
However last night I picked up In The Name of the King. With a cast including Jason Statham as the lead, Ron Perlman as his side kick, John Rhys-Davies as the Kings Magus and Burt Reynolds as the King. This was either going to stink or be a gem.
It stunk.... Oh did it ever..
Wooden acting, bad cossies, assine plot, it had the works.
Set in a quasi fantasy world, with its western medieavaleque characters, at one point it even featured 'The Kings Own Ninjas
Catch it if you want a no brainer, but even I was sighing with a relief by the end.
