saw a totally tragic film on beeb 2 this week but just had to watch it! one of those films!!
a girl gets bitten by a werewolf.....yep, slowly changes blah blah ......turns into a nasty person, family try to save her blah blah....(

)
the film was truly bad, the suspense was better than the special effects, very bad costumes I have to say, and the ending was totaly lame
any one else see it???

I actually rented it on dvd, thought it was ok. It was all about puberty you know!

but the ending was such a let down!
I wanted to know how the "parents" and I use that in a loose term, would react to all the blood in the house and the disappearence of the sisiter!
I can see the references to puberty in it, but only just, still....it was fasinacting to watch, even if it meant I was late to bed!!

It was a low budget movie I agree but it held some interest for me, best werewolf movie ever has to be American Werewolf in London........ do you think?

Totally agree with that Eckie, there hasn't been another werewolf film that can even compare to that and it was so funny!
I'm actually really surprised that with the advancement in technology that there hasn't been a better one out. The wolves always look so unconvincing, pretty much like those on The Howling!
Although did enjoy Micheal Jackson's Thiller, wasn't he supposed to be one?

I think Jackson looked more normal in the Thriller video than he does now! He truely has become 'monster-like' in his features.
I thought the first Howling film was pretty good actually but the sequels were so bad they were funny.

Very good dude

Best Werewolf movie so far this decade. As opposed to the normal entries in the genre this one exposed some new ideas, and (heaven help us) included sub plotting. Also of interest Dog Soliders is worth a look, if you don't allow the nasty Sci Fi people to say bad things about Horror movies.
Besides the less than great CGI werewolf at the end this one fairly rocked along!

Yes, Dog Soldiers is a great film, I loved Sean Pertwee in it. It reminded me of some 1970's british tv thrillers. The director/writer's new film is going to be about zombies on an oilrig. I like it already. I also enjoyed 28 days later.

Eckie is there some sort of resurgence going on in the Brit horror field???
There seems to be an awful lot of Brit horror coming out at the moment...

Yes there is, and they are doing very well financially too. Its about time we had good horror stuff made here. Hammer left a huge gap.

Loved the bit in Dog Soldiers where the troops are running for their lives and the chick in the four wheel drive helps them out. One of the Soldiers asks whether or not she had a score in the football match
Good to hear the Brit horror industry is back swinging. All praise to Clive Barker for keeping things rolling.
Also of note there is a whole upsurge in Celtic horror writers with Phil Rickman leading the pack.
