Full Version: Disney does Scifi
Sci-Fi Spectrum > Fantasy Land > Fantasy
Dax
I like a good sci fi film and I like Disney, some very good disney films have been made

I was watching treaure planet Yesturday and realised that Disney has made the transitional move to scifi from the usaual fairy tale

also lilo and stich was about an alien who came to earth, not a great film but the sci fi element is there.

treaure planet is a good one, its about jim the cabin boy who searches for the treasure...the treasure island story with a space twist, some of the animation is cracking, the space port is fantastic!....the idea being the space ships are actually ships...like galleons so it really is a "port" in the shape of the moon!

I suppose toy story has a certain amount of sci fi in it as well

do people agree or am I looking too deep?! robot.gif

Nope Dax, I think you have a valid point. Also Atlantis has an element of sci-fi about it too. I've not seen Treasure planet yet, how good is it?

The Doctor
That's a good point Dax actually. Even Disney needs to keep up with the times and the great mix of Sci Fi and Disney tradition is really going to appeal to kids.

Hey, now I sound like an advert? laugh.gif

Doctor please take off those big ears......oops they're real! Didn't Disney make that sci-fi film Black HOle in the 80s? Maximillian Schell or somebody was in it.

Or was it early 80's........? unsure.gif

The original was in the 70s with Jodie Foster as the girl. I think there was a tv film version in the 80s.

On weird and wild Disney little known facts

Clive Barker's Hell Raiser was made by a Disney own studio. Walt must be spinning in his grave smile.gif
